If you had to lose of your senses to replace it with a 6th "other" sense, would you? and what "other" sense would you want?

I think I'd go without my sense of touch to be able to read people's minds at will.

which means that you will give up sex for telepathy?

Sex isn't everything....it's either that or give up music, or seeing what the world looks like....or smelling my mommy's lasagna. :: drools :: I think it's a small sacrifice.

Of all the senses to give up, I'd give up taste, but I'd only do so if there was significant benefit to this 6th sense.

I wouldn't like to give up anything, but I would give up touch or taste. I could never give up hearing, music plays waaay too big a role in my life

Well, you'd get to decide your 6th sense, so you make it as significant as you want. 😉 Like, being able to sense the presence of broccoli.

I'd give up smell. There are quite a few things i wish i couldn't smell anyway. And btw, people giving up touch, would have either a very hard time or just wouldn't be able to. The same goes for just about every activity i can think of, so your sixth sense better be the force.

I'd give up my common sense; that way I'd be able to relate to women better and with the addition of telepathy I might finally be on an equal footing with them.

You give up smell, you give up taste, they are the same thing .. or conneted anyways. Plug your nose one time and eat something, see if you can taste it.
I'de give those up though, for telepathy, sure.

I'd definitely give up smell. Half the time it's a bad smell anyway.

no, gotta be taste as taste is only responsible for sweet, sour, bitter and the other one i can't remember
edit:salt is the fourth

smell is used a hell of a lot more, to distuinguish between all the subtle flavours of things
just do what smp said. you'll find everything can be split into 4 groups, and you can't taste any difference between things in each group
eg. apple and onion would taste the same.

What some folks here don't realize is that if you gave up your sense of touch, you'd be in the same boat as those with leprosy. Your sense of touch is the only thing keeping you from losing all your body parts.
