Good military movie...

Honestly, who hasn't seen that movie... I want something different, other than Red Dawn, the Rambo series, Hunt for red october, etc... I need something DIFFERENT

Full Metal Jacket. Some of the best lines every from the sadistic drill Sergent.

The Longest Day is very good. One of the best on the subject of D-Day.

Try Kelly's Heroes or The Dirty Dozen - oldies but goodies, both with Donald Sutherland and Telly Savalas.

Your ass looks like 150 pounds of chewed up bubble gum...

Get off my obstacle, get the fvck of my obstacle...

Looks like the best part of you ran down the crack of your momma's ass and ended up a stain on the sheets...

Jesus has a hard-on for Marines...

Sir, because I am too heavy, sir.........Because you are a disgusting fat body Private Pyle

Hmmm, where did I put that DVD, good movie for tonight.

Among lesser-known war films: "Gallipoli", an early Mel Gibson film, is an excellent World War I story. "A Midnight Clear" deals with a true incident from World War II. "Go Tell the Spartans" is an often-overlooked Vietnam movie that predated "Platoon".

I love Galipoli the only poor part that drags is their trek through the desert, other than that I loved showing to all my exs cause it makes them cry. Me too but not in front of people.
A good vietnam and society flick is The deer hunter with Denero and Chris Walken.
I always seem to forget about that one.

The longest day isn't that bad at all. If you want to see everything that happened on D-day from many, many, many perspectives, then that's the move for you.

Try platoon, pretty good too.

Bridge on the River Kwai
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
Hamburger Hill
The Big Red One
Patton
All's Quiet on the Western Front
Dirty Dozen
Empire of the Sun
Apocolypse Now
Tora! Tora! Tora!
Sands of Iwo Jima
The Longest Day
A Bridge too far
Lifeboat (not really war but good just the same)
Top Secret (hehe)

EDIT===> Changed east to west.

I used to like hamburger hill and i hadn't seen it for the longest time, so i recently bought the dvd and well, after watching it, it's not as good as i rememberd it. Platoon is much better.

And yes, All quiet on the Western Front is a terrific book.
