Stay away from boy bands! Good lord! Those are not love songs, they are just poppy crap that means nothing.

What types of songs? Like acoustic? A capella? Soft rock? Happy songs? Sad songs?

Boyz II Men - On Bended Knee
Tony Bennet - The Way You Look Tonight
Mariah Carey - Without You
Leann Rimes - You Light Up My Life

Yeah I don't consider that boy band stuff to be any good. Any type of song will do. Could be happy or sad. What you can bet on is that the woman you play these songs for will have heard these before and will hit that soft spot.

some good ones:
eric benet & tamia - spend my life with you
boyz 2 men - on bended knee
joe - no one else comes close
rahsaan patterson - where you are
blackstreet - before i let you go & joy
many smooth jazz songs, too many to list and you guys wouldn't know what i'm talking about anyways
and my favorite...
kenny lattimore - for you

Atta boy! I would probably kill myself before the song finished. Then that would definitely ruin the mood.

Damn there are so many though! A quick glance through my mp3 collection comes up with:

Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing
Atlantic Star - Always
Beatles - a lot (Across the Universe, If I Fell In Love With You, I Want to Hold Your Hand, etc)
Berlin - Take My Breath Away (song from Top Gun)
Billy Joel - Longest Time (favorite)
Boyz II Men - On Bended Knee, End Of the Road, I'll Make Love To You (oh yeah!), In the Still Of the Night
Bryan Adams - Heaven
Celine Dion - To Love you More
Dave Mathews Band - Space Between, Crash, Satellite
Diamonds - Two Silhouettes on the Shade
Din and Tonics - McDonalds Girl
Faith Hill - This Kiss, I Can Feel You Breathe (mmmmm... faith hill)
Hot Chocolate - You Sexy Thing (hey, you never know!)
Journey - Faithfully, Open Arms
Lauren Woods - Fallen (Pretty Woman soundtrack)
Mr. Big - To Be With You (80s - good times)
Phil Collins - Groovy Kind of Love
Platters - Earth Angel (classic)
Pretenders - I'll Stand By You
REO Speedwagon - I Can't Fight This Feeling, Keep On Loving You
Richard Marx - Right Here Waiting, Now and Forever
Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody (should get you some nook, haha)
Seal - Kiss From a Rose
Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us now (from Mannequin soundtrack, 80s)
Temptations - too many (My Girl, Under the Boardwalk)
The Heights - How Do You Talk to an Angel?

Some more:
Elton John - Believe, Your Song, The One
Peabo Bryson - A Whole New World (Disney's Aladdin song)
Celine Dion - Beauty And the Beast
-- a bunch of Disney songs could do

FYI, Satellite is about Dave wondering what the hell a satellite gets to see while it's in orbit. It's not about love in any way.

Hehehe... turn it low enough and then you no longer hear the words... tada - mood music!

If you guys want some real mood music, check out Frank Sinatra Live at the Sands. Sinatra will make a chick's heart melt over a candlelight dinner, I swear!
