Good lord, 'The Cleveland Show' looks horrible

I watched the first 2 episodes, and I'm done with it.

Good... move it to BET then. Maybe FOX could use the time slot a better spin off idea, like a Simpsons spinoff with Hapu! It could be like "Clerks", the cartoon!

I too thought this. Last Sunday was definitely a pleasant surprise, but the show is still very much meh.

I do wonder how many will watch it simply because of the race of the cast, regardless of the content? And I wonder how much the producers were relying on that probability to be sure that the show would at least turn a little bit of profit.

Kind of like how nerds will watch even the crappiest episodes of Voyager, or watch The Motion Picture just because it's "Star Trek."

You know, not that I'd ever do such a thing..........never.

i like the bear. i think the show is pretty funny and will continue to watch it on hulu as it is aired.

At first I was very much in the "give it a chance" camp. After all American Dad fucking sucked for the entire first season, but it found its feet and it's quite good now. I figured The Cleveland Show should get the same chance. However, after the first few episodes, it's the exact same goddamn show, except with every amusing or interesting character removed.

At least when American Dad came out, you could tell it was kinda different. No cutaway gags, stronger storytelling, well-executed if predicatable characters. The Cleveland Show is just Black Family Guy. They even have a wise-cracking infant who isn't 1/8 as funny as Stewie. It's just lame and derivative.
