That's a lot of 9/11s. Can you imagine the wave of bombings across the country? Unacceptable. These Palestinians should be re-settled in Palestine or Israel, not Richardson, Texas.

Jerusalem (CNN) -- The United States under President George W. Bush was prepared to take in 100,000 Palestinian refugees as part of a Middle East peace deal, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday.
"The United States was ready to take in 100,000 refugees as citizens of the United States," Olmert said, in what may be his most revealing comments to date about negotiations with the U.S. and the Palestinians when he was prime minister.
Olmert, who led Israel from 2006 to 2009, spoke weeks after direct talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians resumed in Washington.
As prime minister, Olmert negotiated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently doing.
Speaking in Tel Aviv, Israel, to a group called the Geneva Initiative, Olmert also said Sunday that he was prepared as prime minister to share Jerusalem's holy sites, which include the Western Wall and the Temple Mount -- known to Muslims as Haram-al-Sharif -- with the Palestinians.
"It will not be ours nor the Palestinians... (it) will be managed by an international trustee which includes (other) countries," Olmert said, describing his vision for the area known as the Holy Basin. "Israel is one of them, the Palestinians are there, the Saudi Arabians, according to my offer, the Jordanians and the Americans. This is a trust fund of five countries."
"This trust is going to ensure the freedom of access to all the holy sites to any Jew, to any Muslim, to any Christian," he said.
Also Sunday, Netanyahu said he does not plan to extend a moratorium on settlement-building in the West Bank, despite a Palestinian threat to walk away from peace talks if building resumes.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also pushing for a new three-month moratorium on Israeli building on land which the Palestinians consider theirs, a diplomatic source said Thursday.
But Netanyahu told leaders of his Likud party that there has been no change in Israel's position, sources familiar with the talks said.
The settlement freeze is due to expire September 26.
The Palestinians have said that if the moratorium ends and building resumes they will walk away from peace talks, which recently resumed after an 18-month hiatus.
The two sides appear to be at a stalemate, the source said.
But Olmert said Sunday that he is hopeful about the new round of talks.
"We have a peace proposal, and I believe that it may bring about a peace accord between us and the Palestinians in a short time," he said.
"The mere fact that the government of Israel agreed to take direct talks even when it causes pain to the government this means that it is courageous," he said. "Maybe it's the beginning of an understanding that there is no other choice."

Not all Arabs are Muslim and not all Muslims are Arab. Bonus hot tip: you can't control your ethnicity but you can choose your religion.

And not all Arabs are bad people. And not all Muslim are bad people. In fact only a tiny minority of either are bad people.

Nothing wrong with Arab's people are people. There is somethings seriously wrong with that retrograde religion called Islam tho. To the degree you follow more fucked up in the head you are. It's undeniable.

But all Muslims are superstitious people who have barbaric beliefs.
They're all superstitious, like all religious people. Barbaric? Again, only a small proportion. Most Muslim people are just ordinary people who have a particular faith, they go to work and pay their taxes and just try to live their lives like any atheist, Christian, Jew, Mormon or Hindu.

It would really give people like you some perspective to go out and meet some ordinary, middle-of-the-road Muslims. I know it has changed my outlook on religious people as a whole to make really great friendships with some really great religious people.

Have you ever known any Muslims? I have and no their believes are no more barbaric that any other religion as a whole. Just as you have idiot Christians doing every thing they can to bring on the rapture, you have a small minority of Muslims doing similar stuff.

Yeah, like when hundreds of thousands of Christians all around the world were violently protesting about a cartoon in another country. Oh, wait.....

All religions are archaic and have unsavory aspects to them. The difference is that aherents of Christianity, Judaism etc have largely grown beyond literal interpretation and ignore the crazier aspects of their religion. There are fringe groups that are still nuts, but the vast majority of people are beyond fundamentalism and religious fervor. The majority recognizes that the fringe are nutcases, which allows for secular government etc. With Islam, one gets the sense that it's not just a small fringe that is still in the middle ages, it's the general population, hence all the theocracies, pushes for sharia law and other such garbage.

Are you kidding me ? You have problems with people legally immigrating ? Simply because of the color of their skin ? Racism is in these days, I guess...

The vast majority of Muslims are peace loving people, but like any group, their vocal/active crazies screw it up for the rest of them.

Where in the OP was there any reference to the color of their skin? OP was referencing taking 100k people from a country and area where terrorism is a way of life and pretty much accepted, and moving them to the US.

I see the American propaganda machine is well-oiled.

Hmm, with enough conservative Muslims in America, we might be able to stem the tide of social liberalism. The Egyptian Arabs that I have known were good folks (1/3 of them Christian, 2/3 Muslim). I have never met a Palestinian.

I guess as long as they were to stay in Texas it would have been a win for everybody.

Frankly, I'm pleasantly surprised that GWB actually made some concrete proposals in the Mideast peace talks. When he adopted that as one of his main goals late in his second term I thought it was something he was only giving lip service to. But it's too bad Olmert didn't say what GWB asked the Israelis to give up-given his close identification with the Israelis I would guess somewhere between not much and nothing.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the Palestinian leader's room when this proposal was suggested. Very tough choice-give up a portion of your people forever, they will have a better life and perhaps the remainder will have a better life as well-but give up our long term goals forever?

I'm quite certain the former President was deranged. I mean, he goes through two Muslim countries killing a whole lot of them in the process and then invites hundreds of thousands of the survivors over here.

We're fighting them over there so we can BRING them over here?

Sounds accurate....

Our distinctions are not relevant to them seeing the United States killing their people.

And you did end up killing a lot of the people in the invasions so I guess the point is moot.

But we are talking about Pals here anyways and America was not really responsible
except for supplying arms to those who were.

I'm going to ignore your assumptions about who I do and don't know and focus on the issues:'

Do Muslims by definition hold the Quran to be sacred? Yes. Is the Quran barbaric? Yes. Which of these two statements do you disagree with?
