good lord, any way to have iphone take less than 1/2 hour to sync?

I fucking hate itunes... it's a slow piece of shit that shouldn't need to be used for this fucking phone. All I want to do is sync some ringtones and such, but itunes is telling me that if I don't sync my apps that it will delete all my apps from my phone. What? Why? I download a bunch of random shit which is taking FOR-FUCKING-EVER to sync and I don't want to deal with it. Is there any way of turning off app syncing without the stupid fucking computer deleting my apps?
 
click you iphone icon in itunes, uncheck "sync applications"

Do you have 2.2.1 installed? I have 40+ apps and i still sink in a matter of 30 seconds.
 
Yeah I have 2.2.1 When I uncheck 'sync apps' it warns me all of my apps will be deleted, so I end up leaving it checked.

This whole sync crap is totally full of shit. You can't sync with 2 more computers, etc etc.. It's just blah. Sometimes I'm at work and I want to add a new app and I have to either do it via the iPod itself wait to go home and do it.
 
Mine takes forever to sync as well, but I think I'm using a USB 1.1 port instead of a 2. Just too lazy to confirm.
 
Maybe something is wrong with your iPhone? I have 100+ apps on mine and it syncs in about 20 seconds.
 
Ok, the sync just checks if things are ok. OP, are you just talking about the sync itself or is your comp doing a "Backing up iPhone" and crap? If it is, that's different.

Well, both. The backing up iphone thing takes a while, but the app sync is the most annoying part.
