Good leather duffel bag companies?

edro

Lifer
I have always used a standard backpack as an overnight bag when traveling for short durations.
My backpack has failed, so I am looking to get a new overnight bag.
I am looking at leather duffel bags, similar to the one shown below.
I think this style holds more clothing than most backpacks.

What are some good brands that will last a long time? I'm sure Coach/Louis Vuitton have great quality, but they are definitely out of my price range.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Ive had it for 10 years and love it. durable and looks cool.

I always like looking at this website:

Don't own anything by them but I want to get their shaving kits. Looks like they've really raised the prices on them though. I don't remember them being that expensive. Oh well. I just sprung for some leather boots so I'm not getting anymore leather accoutrements anytime soon.

Wow, really nice, but really expensive too!

I like that it has brass hardware.

That's the problem with leather stuff. You get what you pay for. All the leather in the world doesn't make up for shoddy construction. You pay a fortune for something good, or pay less, and get less than you would for a good fabric bag in the same price range. I'd either come up with the cash, or set your sights lower.

Edit:
Here's some more spendy luggage. It costs a lot, but is very well made, and good looking. The oil cloth holds up well, and the leather accents give it a good look...

You cannot beat the quality of Saddleback Leather products IMO.

But they cost a lot if you're not able to spend that kind of money.

But if you want to buy something just once and it last you the rest of your life and then someone else s life, you get Saddleback Leather products.

They have a 100 warranty.

I just got a tote for my wife for her Christmas present that cost nearly $500 but if it last her the rest of her life then it's worth the money IMO.

I was in the market for something similar, but not fully leather, and ended up with one from Cole Haan. I've used it at least 10 times so far and I love it. It's canvas with leather and the bag's wearing in nicely.

I will second this opinion.

My wife has the tote
I have a laptop bag, wallet, and belt.

Great quality and it looks better the more you use it.
