And it was the Democrats said the bank bailout bill was so important that it needed to be passed without debate, and now we're stuck crying about how the banks were bailed out and are again making massive profits while the rest of the US is still taking it up the tailpipe.

Yep, Democrats are so much better than Republicans. :roll;

I'm not saying you're wrong about the rushed part but last I checked McCain was saying the same thing and GWB signed off on it.

Gotta love the werpossim defense of the patriot act, we agree it was adapted in far too much of a hurry.

But in terms of health care reform, its quite the opposite, we have needed real reform for decades, and thanks to the GOP and partisan politics we will get a bill that is far less than what we should have.

Sadly I am not amused nor should the American public be at the clusterfuck we will get lacking a public option. Oh well, some thing are better than nothing, and now true heath care reform is kicked further down the road. But politics is like sausage making, the whole process is something hard to stomach. Sausage tastes so much better if you know nothing about how its made from the entrails of pigs.

Bush backed and the Democrat Congress passed the Troubled Asset Relief Program, whereby the federal government would buy up the toxic assets banks were holding, sell them for what it could get, and take the hit with taxpayer money, allowing banks to become solvent. Obama and the Democrats changed that to use the money to purchase part ownership of the banks and investment firms instead, infusing the companies with cash to allow them to pay bills until the market came back and hopefully the toxic assets would be less toxic - and of course instituting some wise government control into the running of the companies.

If you want some real crazy, look back at Hank Poulsen's original plan, which was "Give me several hundred billion dollars and go away. Trust me, I'm from the government and I'm here to help you." Being from the government themselves, the Democrat Congress wisely did not trust him. We'll never know with certainty if Bush's vision or Obama's vision would have worked out better, but giving that kind of money to one person without strings would have been street rat crazy.

I've made sausage from scratch, and it's that much more delicious to me if I know where the ingredients came from.

The problem with the current health-care issue we're having is, in my opinion, precisely due to the majority of our beloved Super-American tea-baggers not having experienced the rough end of the health-care stick being stuffed up their ass.

You know what: FUCK 'EM. Let's cancel MEDICARE, (and MEDICAID, while we're at it--because you know a some tea-baggin' fruits are sucking off that government teet for sure).

Let's see the OUTRAGE about CANCELLING SOCIALIST HEALTHCARE play out, and sit back to chuckle a little (and a lot).

Dumb trash will eventually get what they deserve, but unfortunately at a cost to folks who know better.

The best lessons are the toughest.

Bush did sign off on it. But almost every Republican in congress was against it, and the Democrats both in congress and right here in this forum derided them for obstruction, claiming it needed to be passed without debate.

ah, the S.S. Sandy Vagina sets sail with all the regular GOP members on board...

And you have a picture of Patrick McGoohan as your icon?

You work well in the village you do, and you like it.

Seriously, the dems and repubs are equally repugnant. To openly support either I would consider complicity.

Wow. New lows in politics. Way to go Democrats.

Not much different than the Rush, the teabaggers, and Fox News feeding the RNC if you ask me.

Meh... there is nothing that is not low about politics. Well, except for claiming some 'new' low, as if such a thing were possible.

edit: BTW, I actually bothered to watch the video, and while it is stupid beyond belief, to call it a 'new low' in politics is ridiculous. I'm disappointed in you, Bober... you used to be able to be objective. Now it seems like you're just another hack. I suggest stepping back from the internet forums and the news media for a while and getting some fresh air of perspective. Hell, you might even start thinking for yourself again! I'd look forward to that.

wow, that was incredibly retarded.

in name alone, you'd think RTV was about getting people educated and voting period, regardless of which way they end up voting. but no, it's "join us or clearly you are an idiot" and for good measure, they make it sound like they're recruiting an army and/or cult. and the hot colombian chicks will hold out on you. cause you know, when you're about to head home from a club, they're gonna check to make sure you stand "correctly" on health insurance. yeah :roll;

Like it or not you eventually have to pick your poison. I do get a kick out of so many of the "silent majority" who let Bush rape this contry up the ass now claiming that both sides are repugnant. It reminds of the old joke, "How do you make a hormone?. Don't pay her."

General statement with no citation? gosh I didn't see that coming. Ive been an independent for quite awhile. I once voted for a republican, and once a democrat (regretted both), the rest independent /3rd party.

So if your going to quote me and insinuate that I didnt have a voice then as now, you do not know Tucco as a wise man once said.
