Good jailbreaking guide?

Like the title says, anybody know of a good guide to jailbreak the iPhone 3G?

Also, would this affect my purchased apps?

No.. Doesn't affect your purchased apps. I didn't see NetShare when I jailbroke my phone but there is a Donation-ware title "iPhone Modem" that works super well with OS X. It's in Cydia.

Basically just go to this site, download QuickPwn 1.1, and then search Google for the 2.1 iPhone firmware ipsw download.

Throw QuickPwn in the Applications directory, and then have that ipsw on your drive and it should find it, and then just follow the apps directions. Really simple.

Thanks a lot! Really irks me that i need to jailbreak my iphone for this, but that's Apple's loss. I've spent $200+ on apps so far, and if i can get them for free now, i'd rather do that (or purchase them w/o the App store).

Yea, that's kinda the way that I feel. Plus jailbreaking gives you other great apps like "Intelliscreen" which lets you add Mail, News, Sports, Weather, Calendar, SMS, etc.. on the lock screen, so no more "guessing" as to why your phone is alerting you to things.

Hm any clue as to why it's not working for me? I have the application on my Macbook, and it created the ad-hoc network, but when i open the 'Modem' app on my iphone, it says Status: No Wifi
