Good inventory system?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a flexible inventory system?
The use will mostly be keeping track of computer equipment, but it would be nice if I could find one that's flexible enough to use for other things as well.

A couple of requirements:
Needs to run under Linux or Solaris, would prefer if it's entirely platform independant.
Web based UI(just for users, administration interface doesn't matter much)
Free(as in beer, preferably speech as well)
