Try megatoners ... http://www.megatoners.com/hewlettpackard.html

If I remember right, shipping is $4.95 so a few of each cart makes it very reasonable.

Hi Luckylarry2!

Thanks for responding. I found those cartridges as well.

My question more concerns whether:

a.) is this a reputable company, and

b.) are their cartridges of reasonable enough quality that I won't have to worry about leaking, and cleaning the print heads every few days....

As i said, I'm tempted..but I just wanted a little feedback from others who have used this (or another company) and their respective cartridges.....

Thanks

Ran

I've bought from them many times. No problem at all.

If you want to be a little more picky try www.tylermartin.com

also try monsterinkjets.com

As far as generics. The cartridges are good. I've rfilled a generic over 100 times.

For my previous purchase I used printpal.com, no problems.

I have an epson stylus color 880, $5 for black and 7 for color.

Instead of spending at best buy 30 for black and 25 for color.

I have an epson 880 that I have put over 60 black after market carts in from megatoners, no problems. I do find that they keep changing suppliers and the quality of the color carts very a lot. Some great for home pics, others, look like food die in a lot of water. But, the black is allway good, How can you screw up black

got the exact same problem buying the ink carts from tylermartin for our epson 785epx. never going there again. re-installed an OEM cart and things worked fine again.
Which one did you get from tylermartin? USA Inkjets, Nectron "blue box", or Rainbow brand?

it's a blue-box yes, but i'm not sure of the brand, since it says everything on there except the brand. the cartridge itself was in a metallic shrinkwrap thingy if that makes any sense.

So, this brings up a point I've been waffling on for years now.

I've got an HP PSC500 which, frankly, I've loved. It does everything I need it to do quite well. The one drawback, as we know with all these HP, Lexmark etc..is the real money-making business for the companies..... TONER costs!

Since I've bought the thing, I've only used HP cartridges in it which are quite expensive. Everytime I go to buy non-HP cartridges, I get nervous about all the horror stories people have had with remanufactured/substitute cartridges and wind up buying HP again.

So, I'd like to solicit opinions/suggestions about what would be the best company/type of non-HP cartridge to get for my PSC500. I'd like to move away from $35-$40 cartridges to something a little more reasonable.....

i have the same printer....gonna give it a go on these carts....hopefully everything works out...i've been with out color for so long cuz i didnt want to spend the cash

/me waits for someone to post "what about HP ink cartridges?" then laughs maniacally and gazes lovingly at his Canon printer and $1 ink cartridges.

They cant sell HP ink carts, because whenever a company tried that they got sued by HP...

I believe that I read recently that a company won vs. HP on that issue... HP was using the DMCA for their suit and lost.

I've gotta stock up. I'm tired of the kids saying "dad, I have a report due tomorrow and we're out of ink because I printed out 500 pages of cheat codes for the x-box." That always meant retail prices for me, and I hate it! Thanks for the post.

It's a little cheaper here.
At least for the HP 56, 57 refill kits.

Does anyone knows how many times can we refill an original HP 56 black cartridge?
Thanks.
