Good Host

I need a host that will basically host this script:

Gallery

Requirements are PHP and Apache. I'm sure most hosts are Apache, at least they have been in my experience and have had PHP.

Not looking for a whole load of bandwidth so anything above 1GB a month is plenty. Spacewise, not sure, but depends on how many pictures are uploaded. Lets have 500mb to start though.

Pricewise, give me three different price ranges. One is cheapest of what I mentioned, another is something you'd reccomend for your own website that is reliable and has nice uptime at an extra cost, as well as a third one which is the best of what you can reccomend that isn't insanely expensive, such as don't give me hosts for $200 a month, I'm thinking under $50 a month for the most expensive. I'd like some options down in the $10 or $15 a month range though.

dathorn. My account is just sitting there, I'll give you half my allotment for $7/mo. Rossman loves them I think, his site's been up for 9 months straight. Gallery works no problem. Get your own acct for $14/mo.

Whats your allotment? Its school related so I don't know how well they'd take sending a check to iwearnosox, not that I wouldn't, but I'm making a pricing list for something school related so it has to be approved by the department head and teacher.

Holy crap! 2GB of space and 30GB of transfer for $14 a month!?!?!

Prices have fallen a lot since when my website was up. It used to be that price for 500mb and some GB transfer per month, don't remember exact amount. That too, was a special one hour deal only 😛

Half would be 1gb space and 15gb bandwidth. I don't use it but will be for backups of another site. Give me a domain name via PM to park there, I'll set it up. Screw around with it, if you want to keep half paypal me $7/mo, if not that's fine too.

Have you checked out 1and1.com? Its free for 3 years. Not sure if you can install gallery though, but there is a huge thread in hot deals on it.

You can host galery on it... I have tried to host my pic hosting site there (www.devioustap.com now www2.devioustap.com) but after 2 months there database server crashed and lost the database for the whole site.... therefor I wouldn't recommend them for anything involving mysql.

No! Not globat!!

Search webhostingtalk for feedback.

Personally I'll probably go with crediblehost, haven't heard any support horror stories as opposed to globat.

Yep Globat.com is the BIGGEST web host SPAMMER of them all. Supporting them is a big no-no. That's like buying X10 products when they were in business.

I second the dathorn.com recommendation or midphase.com which offers:

1200MB/40GB/650 emails/FREE DOMAIN for $7.50/mo.

dathorn is more established and it's a RESELLERS account which is leaps and bounds better than your standard virtual web hosting account.

CredibleHost.com is also a good choice and they offer a huge assortment of control panel choices.
