basically what I am looking for is a pair of headphones which will take a 5.1 cable line. I have some now, and they had the proccessor unit between the headphones and the PC, and I could plug my 2.1 speakers into it, so I could use either or. Anyways, the speakers seem to be emmitting a very high pitch noise that is driving me bonkers, which gets louder as i increase the volume, the same goes for the headphones. You cant hear it when music is playing, but when it stops, it is annoying!! I dont know if its the cheap proccessor unit or what, but do you guys have any reccomendations for under $100?
 
Processor unit? Do you mean the amplifier?

Also, if it's the source that's creating the high-frequency noise, replacing the headphones will do nothing.
