My usual recommendation is SONY MDR-7506. Should be able to get em for $100 or less.

You get what you pay for. But then again, if you haven't heard the better ones, you probably won't even know what a piece of sh!t you just bought

For around 50 bucks USD you can get the earphones I have.. the Sony MDR CD380's are very nice for the money (cost me 89 CAD)

they have very good bass response, and overall sound quality is very very decent for what you pay. I recommend these for anything (I play Q3/RA3 with these too and they are amazing)
