Good Gin Cocktail

Disclaimer; I am 21, don't worry.

Well, Iw as thinking of picking up a fifth of Beefeater(or if one could reccommend a better gin for around the same price) and was wondering about good Gin Cocktails. THe only one I've ever had was two shots gin, a shot of triple sec and some grape soda, it was good and I enjoyed it. I want some other ideas though, and in your infinite knowledge I know you can help me.

Negroni: Equal parts gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari. I like it on the rocks, but shaken/strained is ok too.

Experiment, find a good bartender near you...easiest and quickest way to find out what you like. Everybody likes something different.

But in terms of gin itself, I prefer more neutral and traditional gins. Plymouth Gin was drunk by the Royal Navy (and it claims to be the gin used in the original martini although that is also claimed by another label); a cheap and yet great gin I found is Boodles. I haven't found it in Michigan yet, but I had it in Minneapolis and a few of the larger metropolitan cities too.

I can drink gin and tonics forever. Beefeater is my favorite gin that I've discovered so far- I like it much better than Bombay or Bombay Sapphire, not to mention all the cheap stuff.

Give me the Tang... Beef is good, but will never outshine Tang.

G & T 's are classics. Love them... Try it with Grapefruit instead of Lime

Classic Martini's are also delicious.

Gin and Tonic is all you need. Do yourself a favor and get some Bombay Sapphire. I prefer the taste of Sapphire way more than Beefeater in gin and tonics

The Perfect Cocktail (according to the menu at a local bar):

Muddle 8-10 mint leaves with 2 tsp sugar in a highball glass. Squeeze the juice of a lime over this. Top with ice, add 2 oz of gin and stir. Top with ginger ale.

It's essentially a mojito, but you use gin in place of rum and ginger ale in place of club soda. The resulting beverage is ever-so-slightly sweeter, but absolutely delicious (by far the best gin cocktail I have ever had).
