Good Gambling websites to learn strategy/best places to gamble (Blackjack/craps)

Here's a piece of advice: The house always wins. Keep your money in your pocket and you cannot lose.

No, the house always wins on the grand scale. On an individual scale, you can beat the house.

Odds in roulette are 18/38 (~47%) if you place bets oun the outside: Red/Black, Odd/Even ,etc.

I remember reading somewhere on the web that if you play with a perfect blackjack strategy and never deviate from it, your odds are closer to 49% or something.

The problem is, the more you gamble in life, the more you lose. Law of averages. 🙁

house has a 5% edge on roulette. same thing w/slots. hecks, thats true for almost all games except blackjack and craps.

you are even with the house in blackjack and craps if you play perfect strategy. But what exactly is the "perfect" strat? Anyone point me to a website??

THX!

No, you can beat the house short term. If you're lucky and have the willpower to place one bet and only one bet, the house odds drop to less than 1 percent. Play twice and the house odds increase to over 1%. Place 3 bets and the house odds go up to over 2%. Place 100 bets and you're screwed. Casinos and lotteries are a tax on people too stupid to understand math. Do yourself a favor, figure out how much you can afford to lose and just write the casino a check for that amount right up front. You'll save yourself a lot of time and effort. With the time you save, try taking a class in probability.

You are right blackjack does have some of the best odds for the gambler.

The normal ruleof thumb is: the simpler and easy the game is to understand and play the better the house odds (i.e. slots, roulette) and the more confusing and intimidating the game is the better your odds are (i.e. blackjack, craps)

But with craps just don't be stupid and yell "boxcars!!!" or "snakeyes!!!" all the time for your bets.😉

craps have good odds
my friends play it
i cannot figure it out.
they seem to win or at least break even.
i like blackjack.
been told never to deviate on your blackjack strategy
double down on 11 every time, even when dealer is showing a face card, stand or hit on a 16 etc.
never change your strategy that you decide on from the start.
although doubling down when dealer has a face card is just stupid IMHO.
thats just what ive been told, ive yet to put it into practice.

Ya, plus the wizard of odds has a cool name. On the way to Tahoe/Reno last time, my friends and I studied his little BlackJack chart, my one buddy went from $50 to $100. Of course my other buddy lost around $100. Goes to prove the point earlier, the house wins overall in the grand scheme, but individuals can win.

I really liked his ideas on when to double down and/or split. Most people only split 8s and Aces and double only 11s. However if the dealer is showing a bust card like a 6 or 5, you should do everything you can to play 2 hands (split) or double down (I double down a 9 if he shows 6) to take advantage of it.

Best bet in whole casino is the Pass Line bet in craps.

At least you get to cheer when your point comes, and groan all together when craps comes first 😱

I either break even or break the house (when I feel the dice are hot).

Pass Line $10, 4x odds for me. Then If dice hot, I usually place Come bets, which effectively is "another pass line" Same 4x odds. It could be 15...20 minutes of rolling before craps comes. In that time, I could be up 300-400$. Thats when I usually make a u-turn to the door. Stay away from the advice of the stickman in middle. That guy helping to build a bigger casino with bad bets.

ok, i read the website. the author doesnt like placing another passline bet after the 1st one. WHY?

oh..Las Vegas has a couple of casinos w/10x odds 🙂 of course if you happen to have 6,8,5,9,4,10 all w/10x odds @ $10, then you have $660 on the table. and you should always bring enuf $ to last 10 games. so you should have $6660 when you walk up to a craps table w/$10 minimum and 10x odds. 😱
