Good FTP server program?

I've been using bullet proof ftp server for quite some time now, about 7 yrs. It has always served me well, but recently my FIOS upload has gone up to 3MB/s.
However, through the ftp server, I always only get to upload around 300KB/s max. I can upload 3MB/s fine through most other means.

So any recommendations for servers?

i tried that, i couldnt get it to work for me.;

but then, i am stupid. so...

i ended up using golden ftp server. was just transferring the contents of 1 computer to another.

in 600 GB of contents, it crashed 3 times.

What is the administration server? Is it so I can access the admin from where ever I need?
Could someone explain so I don't have to RTFM? 🙂
