Good friend got ARRESTED for something he OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T DO

He got arrested for a hit and run and his care is perfectly fine. Then the cops have the balls to say that its gang related, and it doesn't take a genius to say its because he is black. I know he had nothing to do with it, what can I do?

Get him a good lawyer and testify when asked. Otherwise, nothing.

Good luck to him. With him being black, I too, think it would be best for him to get a lawyer. It?s unfortunate, but I still think it?s true, no use treading around that issue.

You should just be there as a friend, and let him know that you believe him and support him.

He is probably gonna get kicked outta school for it too. This totally sucks. I wish I could do something. How can you be arrested for a hit and run if the car (an immaculate '96 mustang that he loves more than life itself) "involved" is untouched? Fvcking racist cops.
 
I'm not contradicting your belief that your friend is innocent, but if they are searching his room they probably have a search warrant. To get a search warrant, I think they would have to have some sort of rational basis for their suspicions.

I hope it all works out for you and him, though. If he's innocent they will find it out, just try to be cooperative for his sake. 🙁

 
I was just thinking, and are you drawing the fact that he's innocent purely from the fact that his car is in good condition, and not something else? I mean, where you with him all day or something?
 
Because they believe it gang realted would almost be reason enough. However, military has no need to get a search warrant, they do what they want on base. I hate this, just waiting to hear something.
 
I wasn't with him all day, but I was around him for all but 20 mintutes during the time it happened. It happened all the way on the other side of town so there is no way that he could have driven that far hit someone and get back in 20 minutes or so. The thing about the car not being scratched is what has me pissed at the cops, and them saying its gang related. Morons.
