Good free program to check if my memory is working correctly

I believe the current standard is Memtest86.

Thanks but I'm confused on what one I should use.

Any of them. I beleive the ISO images you burn to a bootable CD, else you can make a floppy disk. Just make sure the resulting CD/floppy is in your drive on bootup, and the drive it occupies is bootable.

My favourite test, and one that I believe to be harsher and quicker than memtest86, is Windows memory diagnostic (WMD)

Follow the instructions on how to download and burn it to a CD. Then boot from the CD.
