Eudora maybe? After hearing horror stories from friends who were infected with the Klez virus, I want a safer email client.

The following comment is from an OpenBSD CVS comment on the pine port:
This note is to announce the availability of the Pine Message System version
4.44. The purpose of this release is to fix a security bug with the treatment
of quotes in the URL-handling code. The bug allows a malicious sender to
embed commands in a URL. This bug is present in all versions of UNIX Pine.
There is no vulnerability from this bug in PC-Pine.

This is old and does not apply now. I should have said had instead of has, but oh well. I use mutt and mail (OS X) at home.
 
Time to plug PocoMail.. I discovered this little gem a few weeks ago and security was one reason I looked into it. So far smooth sailing and I'll probably register it soon.

So they claim:
"The Bat! is invulnerable to KLEZ, an e-mail worm that does not require the email receiver to open the attachment for it to execute. It uses a known vulnerability in Internet Explorer-based email clients (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express) to execute the file attachment automatically. This is also known as Automatic Execution of Embedded MIME type. The Bat! is very well-protected against viruses and worms that spread via email. The Bat! doesn't use the Windows address book and Windows-dependent HTML viewer, which have been the targets of many recent attacks. The Bat! warns the user before opening suspicious attachments or even blocks them completely."
 
I'd certainly recommend the full, paid for version of Eudora! I've been using it for about 4 months and am very happy with it!

Does it support multiple email accounts? I know when I last used Euroda, I dropped it almost immediatly becuase of the lack of multiple mailboxes inside one profile.... Otherwise I'll give it a try.
 
You have to create your own filters in Eudora to move incoming mail from different accounts to their own mailboxes. I don't know why this isn't part of the program itself.
