I like the new WLM beta, though not much has changed since the last release version. The only real gripe I have is that you can't sync non-live calendars and contacts like you can with Sunbird/Lighting. Otherwise it works perfectly fine with IMAP and gmail (gotta setup the folders correctly to properly delete messages).

Otherwise I just use google's gears with offline enabled for gmail.

When using Thunderbird with Gmail, has anyone run into some good fixes for the way Tbird handles gmail labels/folders?

It seems the only area of my mail that gets attention without my intervention is the Inbox folder. I force quite a few pieces of mail out of the Inbox, where it gets labeled and archived - so it ends up in All Mail and in whatever folders I want it to be labeled.

Since my mail is strictly IMAP and only pulling the emails to view, not store, I don't have a problem with an email residing in multiple folders.

What I am annoyed with, is when I am notified of new mail, it shows a number next to Inbox of how many new emails are in the inbox. If I want to see if any new pieces of mail have arrived that are NOT in the inbox, I have to refresh each folder individually.
I want to be notified of a new email in any folder, and when I bring up Tbird, to show me I have 3 new emails in "Inbox", 2 new emails in "Banking", 1 new email in "Social", etc etc.

Any way to force this?
