Any of the apex AD1200's / 1500's, etc will be good for under $100. If you could scrape up a little more cash, go for a low end toshiba model, usually around $130 ish.

I've seen two nice DVD Players which are exactly $99.99 one is a Toshiba and one is a Panasonic at CostCo B&M. I'll get you the model numbers later, I took my digicam and took pics of the signs so I didn't have to write the info down :)

The Panasonic RV31K kix arse and it's $99.95 + free shipping at amazon. Might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere. I've had this player for a year and i love it.

the rv32k is a good choice. but if you want a region free and macrovision disable, i would recommend the apex 1500.

DVD players are largely solid-state components...they're all based on 0's and 1's...so as long as the one you get has the features you want, the "goodness" of it won't make much difference.

$57.95 at Ultimate Electronics. Don't know how common that chain is though. ;)

Not true. I own a couple of the Apex's and the sound is not that good. Also the picture is a hair dark. I'm not sure what I would recommend, but I would not recommend an Apex.
