Good drinking story involving police officers

Last night as I was walking, actually stumbling is probably more like it, home from the bar that is about 4 blocks away I was about a block from home when I see a police car behind me and a flashlight on me. The officer told me to stop and asked where I was going and where I came from. I gave him my ID and told him my story, all the while I couldn't help but have a huge smile on my face b/c I never got pulled over while walking before and he said he stopped me b/c I was stumbling across the street and went out of the crosswalk!! I told him I didn't see a car for at least 6 blocks and didn't think it was a big deal. He proceeded to tell me that jaywalking can be a problem. Then as he is about to tell me to get on home, another officer pulls up and gets out of his car, he is carrying his nightstick!! Then I really had a big ol grin on my face, kind of shook my head and walked home laughing. Maybe you had to be there, but I guess I'm glad I was walking and not driving.

Haha, you almost got a jaywalking ticket.

Who gets pulled over for jaywalking!?

hahaha
once in guelph i was j-walking and a police man stopped his car in the middle of the busy intersection, got out and proceeded to yell at me for what seemed like forever all while all the other people in cars yelled mean things at me because he was holding up traffic.

it's funny now that i reflect on it but at the time i was so embrassed.

i don't j-walk anymore.

come to los angeles, we get tickets for honking, blocking the flow of traffice, license plates, window tint, you name it they dish it out.

JWI = bigger ticket. 😱

I actually got a jwalking ticket in Madison, WI. Never paid it, still haven't seen anything from it. Its been 9 years.

the jaywalking tickets they give out in downtown Tempe Arizona (where ASU is) are like $110 or something. They gave away a buttload of them and not many people do it anymore (at least ones that are familiar with the town)

😀

Many years ago, in Los Angeles, I was picked up and thrown in the drunk tank overnight for walking home from a bar drunk. When I walked out of the bar I knew I was too drunk to drive safely, so I walked past my car and proceeded towards home, about a mile away. The freaking Sheriffs grabbed me and didn't care that I was sparing the lives of countless people by stumbling down the street against traffic! Actually, I probably would have been killed by a speeding drunk if they hadn't pulled me out of the street.

I got a jaywalking ticket in Oakland, CA of all places. Like they've got nothing better to do than ticket me while some crack whore's selling her wares a block over.

I thought that story was going to suck until you said "pulled me out of the street"

HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!

i realize it isn't THAT funny of a story, I just thought it was interesting to say the least especially in my state of mind at the time. I was just glad that #1.I didn't get a public intox or something stupid #2.I wasn't driving and #3.The second cop with the nightstick put it back on his belt before he got to me and gave me a beatdown in the alley. I also just think it is funny that apparently the 1st cop called for backup or is that standard procedure? I mean he gets on his radio, "Officer O'Maley calling in here, I have a mid-twenties, caucasian male here jaywalking at a deserted intersection things could get nasty here I'm calling for backup and keep swat on call in case he's a fiesty devil...oh ya and nightsticks for everyone"

WUI??

Walking under the influence???

"Hey pal, you're all over the sidewalk man! Next time try DRIVING home!"
