Nikon has the best macro built in. If you can find it, Nikon 4500 is the perfect camera for macro.
If you decide to go with G5, then get a macro lens to compensate.

if your still undecided on what to get, check out iPhotoForum.com for some REAL user reviews on gear - or ask there... not like dpreview where they NEVER say a bad thing about a camera (because they get ad money from the major camera companys, so why risk loosing them)

as before - im sstill a big fan of nikon p&s digital and canon dslr's (i own both)
