They do have decent prices there. I found them while shopping for a cd head-unit back in the day.

Oftentimes you are better picking up car audio stuff @ a B&M though, due to the cosmetic factor.

Ike-sound (Ike's Electronics) has some great car stereo prices, including Pioneer head units, on eBay. Their website prices are slightly higher, but still cheaper than local stores like BB or CC or other audio shops. I bought 2 Pioneer head units several months ago and Ike was the cheapest. Since they are in Florida, takes a week or so to get it to CA.

got a PPI amp and infinity kappa components from ike sound. they sell a lot of stuff on ebay, and since I didn't want to wait, I just called and asked them if I could buy it over the phone at the price they were selling it for on ebay. they had no problem with that, so I got my stuff at the ebay (price doesn't change because it was dutch) price before the auctions were over.

I made my purchase from the camera club about a week ago. So far so good, i think. I ordered last thurs. and then I called sunday to see when my order was going to be shipped. They said monday, but I have not received 1 e-mail or phone call after I placed my order. Just wish I knew the status of my order.

Damn, it's been a long time since I dabbled in the car stereo realm. Thus the nic.

Have you seen or "heard" of this? DEH P90HDD
I know it's $1400, but damn that's cool.

Ever since I bought my first computer 4 years ago, I've been hooked. Almost done with the upgrades tho'.

A few years ago, Carmedia1 used to have the best prices.
They've since raised their prices considerably, but they're still pretty competitive with all the other places listed.
Only thing I've noticed is they are offering many of the 2002 models that other places aren't.

Um......what? Wiring harnesses are not based off the manufacturer of the head unit - they're based off the manufacturer of your vehicle, ie Honda, Ford, GM, etc etc. Any place that sells car stereos will sell wiring harnesses - Best Buy, CC, Car Toys, etc etc etc...

I realize this is a little off-topic, but...
Can someone point me to a good place for a newbie to start with car audio -- what's needed, which brands are best, etc? Thanks a lot!

Keep in mind guys when you buy from a merchant online you can never be sure about whether the product is new or not. I get my stereo equipment dirt cheap because I know a distributor and hes a good ole boy that likes me :) but keep an eye out on the warranty. If its a lot cheaper than a buncha places that means the warranty has been reduced and sometimes to get the warranty you need to have a professional install it such as Best Buy or Circuit City. Good luck to ye all thou and I hope you all get cheap good car stereo. I love my infinitys.. got em all round :)

I was going to bump this thread from the dead today (so i thought.) I recieved my speakers today, they shipped the 3rd from Florida to Oregon... Everything came packaged well and new in box. I bought my stuff from etailers because my local audio store friend couldnt come close on the price but he is installing it and giving me a warrenty :) . For a head unit i got last years Clarion pro audio db-415 for $130. If your looking for car audio information try one of these car audio forums.
