I convinced the lady to do it no problem, but I for the life of me I couldn't talk her out of adding the cost of overnight shipping ($19) to buy.com's price. I looked at their pricematch policy on their website and sure enough that's the way it's supposed to be. Even though it won't arrive (since it's from Ingram Micro) until 7/31. Oh well, $140 is still cheaper than anywhere else at the moment.

The CSR I talked to was pretty kewl. He did not argue once about the coupon and said the shipping charges for Buy.com was $4.95. Total price $129, after taxes also.

Ok, I called Staples and the girl barely spoke english...however I did get them to pricematch amazon and their price was 149.99. They tacked on 15 bucks for 2 day shipping from amazon. and the applied the staples coupon of 40 off 150 or more. Next I stated that I had a free shipping coupon from buy.com and that like a previous poster the 40 coupon on 149 with free shipping was the only incentive i had to purchasing from staples. Well to make a long story short. I ended up at 123 dollars with shipping from staples. I was ok with that. even though 110 would have been better. Then the kicker. She charges me the tax. After all that I let the deal sink. The Tax ticked me off. Seems more and more internet houses are charging tax. Why is this. I am gonna hold out for a better price. I already have X gamer and want the platinum. Hopefully, I am selling the Xgamer to a friend for 45. Decent deal for him . I still have to purchase Live Drive II. I am looking for 109 shipped on this. Im gonna stick it out.

Thanks for listening

dude if you don't already know....you will get charged tax from any "etailer" that has a physiscal business presence in the state you live in.

Example: buy.com has a physical business presence in California. Guess who buy.com charges tax on? yup California!

Staples has a physical business presence in every state in the continental usa. guess who they charge tax on? yup eveyone in the continental usa!!!!

Since Staples factors overnight shipping into the pricematch, I had them match Onvia's price ($166.91) because Onvia offers free shipping. So.. the match, plus $40 off, plus ink-jet paper coupon turned out to be a nice deal.

I did not know that forbidden...thanks for the info. Isn't it nice to learn something new every single day. :)

Etailer in your state = Tax...made mental note hehe!

Onvia Pricemath = Amazon PriceMatch.

Simple math 101: 166 - 40 coupon = 126 + tax = (va = 4.5%) 131...almost there....120 is the magic number. :)

Saving $70 - $80 is well worth shopping on the internet.
Hope you all will be happy with yours.

403, I did notice that with Staples. They will charge tax solely because there is a Staples in every state of this country.

Nope, not in Texas.
1) I've looked; when the TI-89 first came out, Staples got to be the sole distributor for a month (I flew to NC to get one - well not really, but that's another story)
2) The csr didn't charge me tax :)
