Good deal on Satanic Bible, $3.46

For those of the other religious order and otherworld beliefs. I found a good deal on the Satanic Bible by Anton S. La Vey. Most places have it for $7.99 and up. Half.com has it for $3.46.

Satanic Bible $3.46

LMAO! Never thought I would see one of these posted here, but hey, to each his own. 🙂

But anyway, doesn't Half.com have horrible problems?

isnt satanic and Bible contradictory, wouldnt it burst open with flames the moment its produced... unless its unauthentic

This statement assumes that the Bible is authentic. The Satanic Bible isn't even really a "bible", it's more like a treatise of Anton LaVey's philosophical and religious principles...think of it more as a "Satanist's Manifesto"

Sounds like a pretty COOL deal, not hot to me. I mean, what's the surprise here, Its half price and its on Half.com -- hmmm you suppose they have other books for half price here??? Are we going to start listing EVERY book half.com has for half price?? Oh, and add the shipping charges and it probably comes out to the list price anyway, so I really don't see where this is a "HOT DEAL"

doh, I was gonna post a hot deal on Cannibal bible and NAMBLA bible, but you guys are so close-minded and so anti-TOlerance and oprressing and labeling and you make me feel BAAD 🙁

In comparison, the so-called (Holy) Bible isn't much better, because all it amounts to is a poorly-written collection of fictional stories that can be characterized by ambiguity and contradictions. Personally, I think that if "Jesus and the other 2/3 of the Trinity" were so omniscient/omnipotent/perfect, they could come up with a much better religious text to offer us humans. In terms of literary merit, believability, and entertainment value, I think the (Holy) Bible makes a lousy "gold standard bible." I think it is completely arbitrary for people to automatically assume that all bibles must look and feel like the (Holy Bible), and that any other religious text cannot possibly be a bible.

Personally, I think this is a hot deal for those who are interested. Satanic Bibles are not as easy to come by as a (Holy Bible), which you could easily get by:
a) answer your door on Sunday morning
b) accidentally making eye contact with one of those "guys in a suit" who pass out these things

Nice price, and to everyone out there who is not discussing the deal, but rather the subject of religion, I think the Mods have termed that a thread crap, please check here, and stop ruining people's threads or the mods might re-instate the blanket ban on all religious deals.

Hmmm.

Not a flame, just a response, albeit slightly (depending on your denomination) heretical.

What is so wrong with an imperfect diety (or dieties) with imperfect texts describing them? I feel it is much easier to believe in dieties with imperfections than to try to rationalize away inconsistancies and worse in texts.

Anyway, just a heathen's point of view.

Awesome book, I had one a while back. They mainly speak about "humanism" and the second section of the book is about spells. It is very interesting, I wish more people would read it.

Well... this is a HOT deal in more ways than one. I mean we are talking about Satan.😉

I disagree with the philosophy of this book because it asserts that "the ends justify the means at all costs."

I say go ahead and lock it up. There's already been a couple thread craps. It's only gonna get worse.

ValsalvaYourHeartOut,

If you live in the US, do you like it? If you do, you should be aware that our "original" constitution for this country was founded with a lot of inspiration directly from the (Christian) Bible. It sounds like you're saying the founding fathers were idiots to keep that book in mind during the creation of this country. Just a speculation on my part though.

I will not stop anyone from reading this collection of thoughts by a very deranged man.but I get to give my opinion from research that I have done. ValsalvaYourHeartOut you have a very odd outlook on many items that you really don't seem to understand so please do more research before inserting your ft in mouth. just my opinion. This dude was really odd. as far as the christian bible it is a collection of stories and histories of many different people put together into one book. It has been broken down to the way it is today to make it a little easier to understand. More death and suffering have come about in the name of one religion or another than any war that we have ever had. does this mean christians are bad. of course not, but it does says that power corrupts even if it is in the hands of so called holy leaders. Mr La Vey did things his way for the power rush among other things. Well I can see this can go way overboard so I will stop now.

A week off for thread crapping

Say what? Most of the founding fathers didn't really care that much about organized religion. Where do you get your history information, Sunday school?

If you wanna know how some of the founding fathers thought-- go here.

what? Anton Le Vey = Joseph Smith? 😀

ooohhh, that's gonna piss a few people off.

anyway, I may just get one of these for the reading. never forbid yourself from reading a text based simply upon its moral posture(s). Were I to do this, i would never have read the bible, and would be making stupid arguments against it, rather than informed arguments against' its literal interpretations.

chill, dammit.

If this isn't considered making fun of or derating the Christian religion, then I don't know what is. This is unacceptable in light of what the Mods have recently posted. This thread is 'dead' and should be locked. Those who have a dim view of others beliefs should keep them to themselves. What does this stuff have to do with this hot deal anyway? Keep it on subject or cut it out.
