Good deal on Digital Theater Sound System ~$180 ?

I'm looking at getting a surround sound system for Xmass - this one seems to have all the features one would want for under $200 - even SAM's club doesnt have a better deal.

Can any of you tech savey "deal finders" tell if there is a catch to this deal (re: how good are the system spec for the $$).

For the price, this system is much better after $50 mail in rebate from etronics.com:

JVC DS-TP350

It got pretty good reviews from somebody at hometheaterforums.com but unfortunately I can't find the review for it anymore.

But with a 10" 100 watt powered subwoofer, and 100 watts per channel x 5 satellites this system seems like a better price/performance ratio than the Onkyo which is only 75 watts total.

This may be like the Logitech or Kilpsch for a PC, not a Home theater reciever/speaker setup in the living room. This price for a regular HT ONKYO is much higher.

Jebbo, I think you are right - I assumed on a 10% discount if I had actually completed the purchase but wanted to get comment on the system before going that far. Although I did use "~" (approximate) in the post because wasn't 100% sure.

anyway, sorry for any missleading post, not done intentually.

Hey dxpaap, I am also looking for a home theater system on a minimal budget. I agree that the best bang for the buck seems to be the JVC DS-TP350 (the $50 rebate makes it pretty attractive). Etronics does have the best base price, but since I live in NY state, the sales tax/shipping combo eats that up quick!

I found that Vanns.com has this system for $399, but will knock of $50 if you "join" their site (a free signup - probably to spam you with ads). They also have free shipping (good on something big-n-heavy like this). The bottom line makes it $349 - $50 rebate = $299 shipped.
