Saw this in Staples B&M (it's OOS online at Staples)...said $269 after Easy Rebate valid 1/2 thru 1/8 (online submission -no receipt or UPC). I didn't know anything about it, so I checked it out online and found an additional NEC $90 rebate (12/5 - 1/15, Orig UPC and receipt copy) listed in Pricegrabber

Specs:
Silver
VGA & DVI inputs
450:1 Contrast ratio
Built-in speakers (small)
16ms Response time

Manufacturers Link

I figured I couldn't go wrong....I went back and got it...I'm writing this post on it right now....Looks GREAT!

I was almost ready to get a 17" no-name for ~$200, so for $210 (for me in NY after TAX) I couldn't pass it up.

I recommend it....FWIW....

Damn very nice price for an lcd and name brand even better. But the $90 rebate says its for authorized NEC dealers. How do you know staples is one? I`m jumping on this but want to make sure. Also the pricegrabber rebate says its for model # LCD1735NXM. Does it matter the staples lcd is LCD1735?

It *is* the NXM version..thats the one I got. I am assuming that Staples is an authorized dealer...NEC/Mitsu list's them on their website HERE

Don't know if this answers your question, but it seems to do so for me.
NEC

EDIT: Dang, if only I didn't type so slow! Beat me by minutes.

Sonofa..... There arent any staples in austin tx. WTH!!? I swear I`ve seen one here.

They have 20 in the DFW area but none in austin. Makes sense i guess. 😕

Sweet deal... I just ordered a Dell 1704FPV for $240 but this has faster response time. Decisions, decisions 🙁.

Wonder if these can be stacked, as one rebate is Staples Direct and processed online, the other is through the manufacturer with sku and receipt, 😉

Doesn't matter: "This Item Is Out Of Stock."

Well, I snagged one today in Tempe, AZ. It was their last "in box" available. The rest around the valley are display models. I saw one and it looked just fine, without a single scratch or mar.

BTW, I'm impressed with this NEC even more so than my Samsung. Very attractively designed and unlike my Samsung it has DVI.

So you guys the rebates will pull through?
I am a little anxious about the second one ...
My local staples has 2 in store so ...... I AM tempted.

I understand, but I'm gambling on the legitimacy of PriceGrabber. Although I'm not familiar with PriceGrabber.com I posted a thread about them and people seemed to think they're ok. I feel better than 60% about it, and I must say it's a nice LCD although the speakers are incredibly but expectedly bad.

i was able to add it into my cart. delivery shows 4 days. decisions decisions...

there's also bound to be some staples coupon u can use for this...
nice! found a $30 off $150.

//krunk (^_^x)

Staples accepted my $50 'easy' rebate.

I mailed in the $90 NEC rebate. Others listing the same $90 rebate (besides deal sites) are:
eCost
CompUSA
PCMall
CDW
ZZF
...I stopped here, but I could keep going...

So...It seems to be valid and it's popping up in a number of places. I have no reason to think that I won't get my $90 back on top of the $50 from staples.

The $90 rebate is a question mark. Staples handles all the rebates for the manufacturers themselves now, including sony.

This has been going on for about 2 weeks now over at chubbyW.

im tempted to jump on this. wish i knew for sure if the $90 rebate will be honored. anyne confirmed this?

i'm very confident that it will be honored.. you've probably waited too long though.. Everyone is out of stock on this monitor.. I just left my local staples (Irving,TX) and got a pretty good deal. They too were out of the monitors but i talked the manager into selling me their display, for 10% off.. Display was in perfect shape and still has the same warranty.. So I got the monitor in Store for 287 + tax, - 50 Staples rebate, and then -90 NEC rebate..So 171 Tax included is a pretty good deal.

By the way today is the final day of the staples offer... And you can't find the monitor in stock anywhere.. You might wanna try other staples.

"..So 171 Tax included is a pretty good deal"

Pretty Good Deal!!!

Congrats xtagenesis..You win! 😉 I was patting myself on the back for $207. You will LOVE this monitor...I can't believe how nice it is! And I haven't used the DVI yet. This was a STEAL!

I can vouch that Staples will work for NEC manufacturer rebates. I bought a CRT back in 2002 from Staples which also had a NEC rebate (not listed at Staples). I submitted it and it went through without a hitch.

Seems like a great deal. Especially if you have a coupon or something.
