The Antec P180 is on sale for $80 after $50 mail in rebate through Newegg, now damn is that a good deal or what?

Now here is the thing, as many of you know the updated Antec P182 came out awhile ago and Newegg has been shipping that in place of the P180.

So I think if you order this P180 through Newegg, you'll actually probably receive the P182 which goes for $170 on Newegg. I'm just not sure, however, alot of people are reporting to get the P182 and not the P180 if you read some of the user reviews.

I think I might buy one just for the hell of it.

Have any of you ordered the P180 through Newegg and got the P182?

Uh, you wouldn't get the 50 dollar rebate if they sent you a P182. You'd have a UPC for a P182 when you need to send in a UPC from a P180.

Some of the Newegg reviews mention people receiving the P182 in the same P180 box, same P180 manual, same everything so it should have the same UPC code I would think.

I understand what you were trying to say, but in this case you're wrong.

The later P180, the version 1.1, have the updates of the P182, just not the P182 color. I know, I got one myself, as did many others.

You should add the shipping cost to the title.

Thanks alot for the info. I think I'm sold on this case now.

Actually, mine came from Compusa when they had them for 50.00 AR, free shipping. All depends how old the stock is that Newegg has.

Damn $50 for a P180...fuck me I wish I would of heard about this. Now this Newegg $80 plus $20 shipping kind of sucks lol.

BTW how do you like the case?

Yes. Ordered a P180B (black) from newegg and got a P182 about two months ago.

I don't know, it's still sitting here along with a Antec Solo case that I got for 30.00 AR. I'm a case collector I guess.

Yeah, I got one from Fry's about three weeks ago for $50 after a $50 MIR, and free shipping too. That was the clincher, the thing weighs 37 pounds!

It was also one of the P182's that's the color of a P180 (black...what color are the P182's?). I haven't used it yet, but I did unbox it to check for dents and it's a very nice looking case. It's most likely going to be my home theater PC case until I can find a steal on the Antec Fusion.

Compusa has it for 99 and if you buy it on the 4th you get free shipping. Not sure about sale tax though.

I don't know how long it will be before people realize that they've updated the P180 with some P182 features, it's not a P182.

I keep reading that the only difference in the later production P180 and the P182 is the color. If you know different, please do tell.

I ordered a P180B from Frys.

http://www.antec.com/pdf/flyers/P182.pdf
This states clearly what P182 is and what it has that P180 does not.

From that document:
Introducing the P182, the newest edition in Antec?s continually improving Performance One design.
More innovations have been built in, such as an external fan control for the top and rear fans, a special
gun metal black finish, cable organizers and even rubber grommeted ports for externally mounted liquidcooling
radiators. All of these improvements build upon the great features of the original P180

The case I got has external fan control, cable organizers and rubber grommeted ports. The only thing my case does not have that P182 does is the gun metal black finish.

Other than the color, are you aware of anything else that P182 may have that my case does not?

Yes, they are the same case. Antec calls it the P180 v1.1. There have been several quotes from Antec posted here and at other sites that confirm that the only difference is the color.

Thanks. Got a black P180.

This rebate doesn't work on the black P180 so I figured:

Newegg
Silver: $79.99 (WITH $50 rebate) + $18.99 shipping = ~$100
Black: $129.99 + $18.99 shipping = ~$150

CompUSA
Black: $99.99 (NO rebate) + FREE shipping = ~$100

Bottom line is that a P182 has the gunmetal finish, the P180 does not. That may be the only difference, but this deal is NOT for the 182 w/gunmetal finish. I got 2 180B's not more than a month ago and they both had external fan controls, better wire management, and rubber grommets but they were still 180's - NOT 182's.

Just didn't want people to think this was the 182, as the OP says.

OKAY if you want to get specific, it's not the P182 but if you order the P180 through Newegg (Maybe other places too) you will get all the same features of the P182 by just ordering the P180.

So for all intents and purposes it's basically the P182 just not the same color of the P182.

It's like comparing green ketchup with red ketchup, same everything except the color.
