I am looking for a wireless keyboard with built in mouse pad or controller or some sort. I couldn't find one on newegg. I don't really want to break the bank if possible.

I always recommend the logitech dinovo mini. That's what I use (and am using right now). It's perfect for an htpc unless you want to game or write documents on your htpc as well. I use my gaming pc for that, so it's a moot point for me. It is pretty pricey though. I paid about $81 at Dell for mine, and that's about the lowest price you'll be able to find. The regular price is $150.

nice keyboard but I was hoping to spend bit less than that if possible. If not though I'll keep a eye out for a deal on one. Thx for the suggestion.

I've been looking at the larger Playstationi 3 logitech keyboard as well. Other than that and the one mentioned above, I dunno besides the two reasonably rated ones on Newegg which are a big chunkier in appearance.

I have the PS3 keyboard for my HTPC and would like the dinovo mini for the other machine. These are both bluetooth, there are some RF options out there (some even with a built in track-ball), but they tend to start at $60 and go up from there.

Something like this.

You could be cheapskate like myself and just get a USB extension cable and plug that into your wired keyboard.

They can be had for virtually nothing at Amazon.

FWIW, I have the DiNovo Mini as well and love it. It may be a little pricey, but it's cheaper than going through multiple other solutions and being unsatisfied each time... :)

Do you have an Iphone or Ipod touch by chance? I've been using the air mouse pro app with my HTPC and it's worked great. $2.00 app and allows you a touchscreen and mouse on your phone/ipod.

i'm a dinovo guy too. i've had the dinovo edge for 2 years now. one of the best purchases i ever made (and for once the price hasn't budged!). the lithium ion battery alone made this thing worth every penny unless you want to get two sets of quality rechargeable AA's for ~$25. I will have no problem buying a new one when/if this dies in a few years. if you use your HTPC for any amount of chatting or productivity, just get the edge. i can still hit 100 wpm on this thing, crisp key action. plus the touchpad with the scroll gesture: genius.

Best options from first-hand use:

Vidabox RF keyboard w/ Laser trackball - Perfect all around use. It's about the size of small laptop keyboard. The laser trackball is incredible.. super accurate, fast, and smooth. The range of this keyboard will reach across my 40ft basement through a wall without dropping out. Battery life is several months before I need to recharge my Energizer AA's.

Logitech diNovo Mini - Expensive, but pretty awesome. The small keys are kind of hard to type on if you need to do more than just web addresses; think of it as a cell phone slide out phone keyboard.. it feels exactly like my HTC Tilt. The range is decent, but not as far as the Vidabox keyboard. The track pad on it feels a little janky and takes some getting used to. Battery needs to be recharged quite often.. every other week or so.

IOgear GKM561R - This is another decent one.. mainly I like it because of the scroll wheel. It makes navigating the web MUCH easier. However, the range on it gets cutout for some reason. The Vidabox keyboard has a much stronger transmitter/receiver. Also, the trackball doesn't feel as smooth as the Vidabox keyboard. Battery life is good.
