Good coop?

What are some of the better coop games on consoles? A friend and myself love playing them and are looking for more. We played through both Gears of War games last weekend and absolutely LOVED them. Those games are coop done right. What are some others in the same vein? Action games and the like are great. Do any of the Call of Duty's have coop?

Edit: Suppose I should have listed what we HAVE played 😛

GoW 1 and 2
The Halos
All the Lego games
Mario Kart DD
Left 4 Dead
Diablo 2

Crackdown and Saints Row 2 are very good coop - but they are online only.

Local, something we can just go rent.

Is this local co-op or over Live? CoD World at War has fantastic co-op. It even has a competitive co-op that tracks each players stats and the co-op over live supports up to 4 players. It has local split screen co-op as well, but it's not nearly as good. The graphics are scaled way back to the point where they almost hinder the gameplay (short draw distance).

I haven't played it so I can't tell you how good it is though.

I didn't like it very much.
It is one of the best co-op games I've played. Besides the fact that many tasks require teamwork, determining the load out best suited for the level, and wisely spending money on upgrades the first play through, is cool too. If one of you isn't carrying the shoulder launch when the copter starts dropping troops at the dam, it ain't going down=no bonus, stuff like that.

They added a couple of missions through free DLC that too. Kiev and Miami alternate ending with a boss battle v. Dalton.

Good stuff. I agreed with the ratings on nearly every co-op game I've played on that list too.
