Hey guys, I live in upstate NY which is about 1/2 hour from the PA border about Binghamton-ish area if you know where that is. I'm trying to find the best school thats within a 10 hour (MAX, Im looking for something more in the 4 hour) range of my area. I've been looking at RIT. I'm only a sophomore, but I need time to go to check out colleges that are farther out so the earlier the better.

I'm managing at 95.5-ish average and I got an SAT **equiv.** of a 1250 on my PSAT I took. Im gonna take classes to try to get atleast at 1400 on the real deal. Im taking all the advanced classes I can and next year I'll be taking: Pre Calc, Spanish 4, AP US History, Comp Prog 1 and 2, English 3 Honors. In my senior year I intend to take AP European History, AP Calculus, AP Comp Programming, *MAYBE* AP English(I dunno if I really want to), and then probably Spanish 5. I am in Key Club and active within my church if that helps. I might do tennis this year also. I do two outside science/engineering groups where we look at structural stuff and whatnot. I figure these would help, anything else?

Anything I should change? Course selections are this week.

Any recommendations on what to check out?

Thanks,
-Dave

Heh, good luck. You're ina poisition similar to mine. I too am in upstate NY, I too took several AP courses (US History, Spanish and English - do it! AP English was great fun.) I was looking at RIT, but my gardes weren't high enough... I'm a slacker, and got high 80s for most of my high school career. Raised it to a 92 my senior year but y that time it was too late. Got a 1390 on my SATs, but still wasn't going to get enough financial aid to make RIT worth it.

SUNY IT is just a few minutes from my home. Heard good things about it, but when I went there for open house, I was less then impressed. The computer labs were outdated and small. What about RPI? They are pretty prestigious, and closer to you than RIT is, I thiunk.
