Good compact camera for baby pictures

I have a nice olympus e-series camera for work but want a nice compact that anyone can use. In other words, it should produce great pictures (indoor too) on auto. My wife's pregnant and I expect many, many pictures to be taken.

If I could pay $350+ I'd just get the LX3 or LX5, but I'd like to spend as close to $200 as possible. I had the lumix zs3 which I liked very much, but it took terrible indoor pictures.

Here are my requirements:
1. Small
2. Fast
3. Great indoor pictures
4. Decent low light performance
5. Works great in auto so my wife, dad, mom, etc. can just pick up and use it
6. $200 to $300. Any more and I'll just spring for the LX3

NOT required:
1. Megazoom. I have a micro4 that I can whip out for say vacation pictures. Size wins over zoom
2. Video - I think I'll pick up a canon vixia line just for video (hv20 owner but think I'll move to flash based).
3. Massive megapixels. 10+ would be fine

Sorry for the sarcasm... in reality I'm looking for the same answer after another Christmas of disappointing indoor pictures.

Check out the Canon SD4000 it is pretty fast with an aperature range down near 2.0 same as the G95. My understanding is that the G95 has a bigger sensor. (I think my terminology is correct but I'm no pro - just read a ton of reviews recently)

Steve's Digipics, dpreview, and Ken Rockwell all have nice reviews of P&S cameras.

Yeah, the S95 is mentioned constantly, but the price puts it out of consideration. At that price I'd rather go for the LX3 or LX5.

With the entry for p&s being lowered so aggressively with $100 getting you a decent camera, I'm hoping that $250 can buy something that's not prosumer but at least provides indoor pictures that aren't noisey or smudgy due to aggressive noise reduction...

Canon SD4000 or Panasonic LX3.
The LX5 does not look to be as impressive and it costs much more.

Isn't the S95 $400, compared to $200 for the lumix mentioned? It's not just a few bucks more.

Hence my earlier attempt (albeit a failed one) at sarcasm.

I simply can't justify $400-$450 bucks for an S95 when you can buy 3 of the Lumix FH20 for that price or for another couple hundred bucks get a nice entry level dslr package.

S95 are being sold at $350-370 online.
Even bestbuy has them for $370.

SD3500 (or older SD980) is wide (24mm f/2.8), but SD4000 is faster (28mm f/2.0). Take your pick?
