If you like violin, the name that comes to my mind is Niccolo Paganini.

<< Rhapsody on a Theme >>

Hehehe, you must be thinking of Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.

Since I'm a pianist myself, I'll suggest the pieces that I am working on, currently

Chopin-"Revolutionary" Etude in C Minor
Chopin-Fantasie Impromptu (actually I just finished this a couple weeks ago, but whatever)
J.S. Bach-Prelude and Fugue in F# Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book One
Rachmaninov-Prelude in E flat Major

If you want some bigger pieces, with piano and orchestra, I should also be starting my first concerto soon! I've narrowed it down to two, maybe you can help me decide which to play by telling me what you like better:

Grieg-Piano Concerto No. 1 in A Minor
Mozart-Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major
(hey, they're parallel keys, I just realized that!)

I haven't touched any of Grieg's work, so I will have to vote for Mozart's piano concerto :)
