Beethoven's 9th symphony Song Of Joy. Also check out some of the stuff by Bond. Good music and plus they are hot.

As far as symphonies go:
Beethoven - 3, 5, 9
Tchaikovsky - 4, 5
Mahler - Any of them
Bruckner - 4, 7
Schubert - Unfinished Symphony
Dvorak - 9

Others:
Moussorgsky/Ravel: Pictures at an Exhibition
Stravinksy - Rite of Spring, Firebird Suite
Holst - The Planets
Gershwin - An American in Paris
Grieg - Piano Concerto in A Minor
Rachmaninov - Piano Concertos 1 and 3
Respighi - Fountains of Rome

I could name a ton more, those are just off the top of my head.

There are ALL kinds of good classical music. What do you prefer? Big thundering movements? Strings? SOOO much to choose from. I'm a Handel man myself. Give a quick descrip of what you think you like and Im sure we'd be glad to pinopint some stuff for you.

interesting to see you mention bruckner symphony....I tried his 9th symphony before, couldn't get a good grasp of it...except the 2nd movement

It's all about 4 and 7. 7 has some of the best brass writing in the repetoire (as a tuba player, I'm partial to strong brass parts).

<< Tchaikovsky is one of my all time favorites. >>

I've got the 5th Symphony on right now, beginning to end, 45 minutes, and I'm not going to miss a second. It's one of the most powerful pieces of music ever written, IMO. Playing it with an orchestra is even better, great experience.

Beethoven is my god:
Symphonies - 3 "Eroica" , 5, 6, 7, 9 "Choral"
Sonatas - Waldstein, Hammerklavier, Appassionata, Moonlight, Les Adieux,
Violin Concerto
Piano Concerto 3, 4, 5 "Emperor"
Also, his quartets if you are into chamber music

I also love romantic concertos, some of the best are:
Violin - Brahms, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius
Piano - Rachmaninoff's 2nd and 3rd, Tchaikovsky's 1st, Brahms' 2nd, Grieg's Piano Concerto
Cello - Dvorak, Elgar

I just listened to "Finlandia" by Sibelius. I love it :)! But of course, being a finn, I can't be objective...
