hi,

i know there are millions of those threads.....buit i need a quick answer. I also remember a co-worker mentioned two services to me....need to know if anyone knows about them ?

Requirements:

Website for a DJ/radio show which means there will be a bunch of archived shows hosted - and one recording is at least 100MB.....so a deal with 300MB webspace would be totally out of the question because its not enough.

Friend mentioned 1&1 and something like "webhostingforlife"......said they're both unlimited and relatively cheap - but i am not sure about the "webhostingforlife"...what's their address/url/offers etc ?

Webhosting should be really cheap (lke $50/$60) per year and we need a domain too and stuff.

thanks !

If you want no bull hosting (no limited time offers, pull the plug if you go over, etc.) I suggest Tera-Byte.

Even if I go over my traffic limit, I just get an email asking me what I want to do about it (pay a little extra or lock down the site until the next billing cycle, etc.) If I need support, they usually answer my emails within 12 hours. They're a good company and they don't cost a lot.

For $8.25 a month, you can get 800MB of space, 40GB of transfer, 200 email accounts, web-based stats, unlimited MySQL, Frontpage compatibility, your own IP address, php and CGI.

i have tried many webhosts and i will tell you this.... Only idologic has actaully matched my expectations.

Prices are decent and support calls are answered in 15 minutes - can't get any better.

Not possible, but good luck...

And remember, anyone who advertises unlimited bandwidth Will go down eventually.

I've been having good luck with Canaca. While I don't know if I would trust them with a critical web site, they host my personal site with 10GB+ photos pretty well.

I've got a friend with 1&1. Everything you say is true... but they're slow... ON PURPOSE. They intentially throttle bandwidth speed to get you to upgrade to a better package. They even throttle "corporate accounts" to horribly slow speeds. Also, if you run any SQL or ASP, etc... Those servers are in Germany. And that slows things down even more. So if you're looking for a "flexy blog" website, they're great and cheap. If you want to host anything else, it's not a good choice.
