I am looking for a few suggestions for low cost collaboration software to use within an organization. I would like to start with our IT department that is spread out across several time-zones.

Something hosted might be a nice option.

For meetings with other employees that are in a different location I recommend using Anymeeting.

For workplace collaboration, Slack is pretty damn cool. The service integration to the various development and monitoring tools is where it really shines.
