Thank you all who were a part of creating Michael’s Funeral yesterday, it was so filled with love and artistry, a tremendous gift to Julia and me, Michael’s family & friends. Gary & Jen, who always, always create community, even on their last days here. I was so worried about wanting my Jewish family to feel at home, silly me. They of course got Gary’s constant message of love and light & said they were no longer worried about us…because this loving community surrounds us. Rafael & Bill for the music, Gary S. and Sharon for taking care of the details, Larry for the program. Michael’s racket ball friends for those very needed & delicious sandwiches, just what we needed to continue on to Shalom Memorial Park. Michael was so loved by so many people, there was an enormous contingent from TD Ameritrade, the team members he coordinated at work. And of course both sides of his family & his [congregation.]

Please forgive me if I waved you away, yesterday, or could not hug or even talk with all of you wonderful [Church] Community folk. There wasn’t enough of me or Julia to go around. My focus had to be on the memorial and the strict cemetery time constraints, and the family members who traveled long distances to be there, and whose hearts were breaking for the loss of this beautiful man they knew as a boy.

I too had a friend die from a sudden burst aneurysm some years back; that it was probably painless was the only up side.
