Good bday present or good xmas present?

So I'm in a sort of bind and looking for suggestions. Wife's bday is tomorrow and in the past prior to getting laid off from my previous career, I could afford to get her nice things for her bday AND Xmas. This year not so much. Basically boils down to getting her something really nice for her bday and skimping on an xmas gift or vice versa. What would you guys do?

(Most) Women would rather have flowers than hard goods.

edit: She DID mention wanting a Down Comforter ON her birthday, I immediately went to Amazon & got her one delivered the next day!)
