Good Bars in Baltimore?

I am flying up to DC next week and I was going to spend Friday night in Baltimore. Do any of you have any suggestions of the bars/clubs I should go to?

Also any travel advice for the city would be great as well.
 
my advice would be to stay in dc and not waste your time in baltimore. it's a shithole other than a very small area, and that small area isn't as nice as most parts of NW DC.

As a Bmore resident, this is probably true. If you have to brave going to Baltimore though, The area around the Inner harbor and harbor east are really nice pretty much all of the time. Pazo is really nice (it's a bit dressier than most bars though), and there a few clubs near light street.
 
No matter where you go, there's always at least one good bar:

depends on what kind of scene you're looking for. there's bar hopping in fed hill, canton, fells point, power plant.

The Get Down is OK if you like to dance (fells). There's this oyster bar called Ryleigh's Oyster that's pretty good (fed). Abbey's burger bistro has custom burgers with stuff like kangaroo meat. It's a british pub (fed). RA Sushi has a great happy hour (fells). Brewers art is an awesome brewery. Red Maple is in the same area. There's a free shuttle called the charm city circulator. Not sure exactly what areas they service. I know there's an app that you can dl and it'll tell you when the bus is nearby.

If you're in the area already. The darkness and middle class rut are doing a free show at the power plant. Tonight at 7pm.

Max's in Fells has an amazing selection of beer, and Brewer's Art in Mt. Vernon has some great stuff as well.

A good bar? Nope. That'd be a night of country music, yeehaaaaaws and back slapping, pretty girls dancing, mass drinking and then fistfights followed by more drinking and ending the night with a rousing rendition of "Tuesday's Gone" sung by all as you stumble out at 2am being helped out by the guy you were just beating on earlier. You can forget about the pretty girls. Not coming home with you (or me).

Not going to find that anywhere in Baltimore City.
 
thanks for all the humorous replies. I am in DC for basically a week. So one night in Baltimore is not going to kill me. Hopefully it is not as bad you guys make it out to be. I do hate country music. So god help me if I am stuck with that.

Fells Point is dope... and powerplant is aight if you want bar hopping...

I goto Fells Point every NYE just because of all the local bars that I like hitting
