Good bang for the buck?

I'm a student with limited ressources (read I wish I had more money ). I want to upgrade my aging comp, but don't want to spend too much money (under 200$US and shipped to Canada). I was looking at buying a Radeon LE and a 256 MB stick of CAS-2 Crucial since they're both so cheap now. My current config is as follows, tell me if you think I should do something else with the money. The Radeon LE comes out to 106$US from a local store 'cause i can't find anywhere reputable to ship it to Canada, ram is 70$ shipped. I do like games although i don't like FPSs I play NHL 2001 and High Heat 2002 (which i can't run on max settings at 800*600 right now)

-pIII-450
-Asus P2B rev. 1.04 (can't use CuMine without slocket)
-128 MB 100Mhz sdram@Cas2
-ATI Rage Fury (non Pro, slightly OC'd)
-10 GB WD Caviar, 5400 rpms
-Diamons K56flex modem, never use it
-Samsung cable modem
-SMC NIC
-Sound Blaster Live! Value (1st version)
-2 Altec-Lansing speakers + sub.
-12x/10x/32x CD-RW
-44x CD-ROM

P.S. This upgrade is just to hold me over until both Thoroughbred and Northwood come out, when i will build a new system.

P.P.S.: Thanx ahead of time for the suggestions and/or comments

Sounds like a good stopgap solution to me. I have a Radeon LE and i've flashed the bios so that it thinks its a retail radeon, enabled hyperz, and overclocked it to 189mhz. I can definately say that it has probably given me more bang for the buck than anything ive ever purchased. PLus your current videocard does suck pretty bad. Additionally, you can NEVER NEVER NEVER have to much ram, bwahahahahahahahaa!!!

yeah, i really need the extra memory, whenever i'm dling something big i see the memory level go down to near nothing. Also, it will help relieve some of the swapping in long Maple V calc although the real solution to that is an athlon

I think that getting a new hard drive is a good idea, especially since you can still use the hard drive when you go for a bigger upgrade.

A faster 7200rpm HD that has more storage space would be a good upgrade also. There would be a good performace gain also.
