<< He wants AWD, but you can't go wrong with a Camaro when you want good performance for little $$$. It's a shame that Dodge never went through with the AWD Daytona. They had a complete AWD setup completed, but never went ahead with it....224HP in an AWD Daytona? auughhhhhhh [/homer]

I know, but for $10k, you aren't gonna get a very nice AWD car. maybe a wrecked one or a really old beaten to death one

Au contraire Valhallah1..you can find very nice used Audi's at a dealer who will really inspect it and deliver a tip top car. Those rich old coots who bought them new and kept them up for 8 yrs because of their price....Good deals are to be found if you are patient. I bought a 1990 90 Quattro 20 valve (which was the equivelent of an S4 now) black on black leather with 54k on the speedo for $15k in '94...a 4 yr old car with 54000 miles....it was just beginning to get broken in. I still have it and it still runs like a watch...even has the original shocks still on it....great cars.

For the record, other than some decals &c. the Dodge Stealth is the Mitsubishi 3000GT. Mitsu engineered and built the car, and Dodge rebadged it. Interesting tidbit, the Dodge retailed for a few hundred more than a equally equipped 3000GT, but the Dodge had worse resale value, so you could get a better deal on a used Dodge with the added bonus of Mitsu's reliability. That said, wait a year for the Imprezza WRX to be brought to the USA, it will be simpler mechanically (no electronic gizmos to mess with) so it will be easier to work on, and Subaru has a reputation for absolutely bulletproof reliability.

You can find a used Audi A4 for a reasonable price if you look around.....how much are you willing to spend?
As for the SVX.....that was a sweet ride but they ONLY came with a slushbox (otherwise I would have purchased one after college).

No kidding. Instead we get those AWD, 195hp (and later 210hp),
Talons, Lasers and Eclipses from those bastards at Dodge when
they replaced the Daytona ;)

For 20k I'd get a '97 Audi A4 1.8t w/ around 50k miles. You can probably find one of them in the high teens. Spend another $500 and chip it for another 20-40HP and around 25 pounds of torque.

I'd go for the 3000GT myself. When I buy a car in the spring, it's a tossup between that and an RX7. If I can find a good RX7 I'll buy that, but they're hard to come by. Harder than the VR4 anyway.

<< Get a SUV if u want four wheel drive >>

Dude, AWD rocks in a car or an SUV. Straight from Audi's S4 website:

This audacious Audi combines turbo and quattro® for a combination of power and control so remarkable that the Super Touring Championship flat out banned quattro®.

For the record, I drive a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. The thing flat out HANDLES like no one's bizness.

They didn't ban the S4. They just flat out banned the use of Quattro (Audi's term for AWD) in their races.

saturnine: I can't believe no one mentioned it before me either. My friend drives a TT and I love taking it for a spin. I'm considering an A4 or a Passat (with 4motion) as my next new car, if I can afford them. Audi's AWD system is second to none. :)

I would say your looking at an older Audi or a Subaru. The Audi A4 is one sweet automobile. I'm sure it will be the next car in my driveway.
