this isnt tetris because its missing two essential shapes.

Well, one would assume that if you're good at Tetris, you'd be good at this as it's similar enough :)

By the way, who the hell is b0mbrhax?

Those two essential shapes mean that you CAN'T possibly play on forever.

With removal of those shapes, there's no artificial limit on how long you can play on.

This is his reasoning?

"Since stacking the pieces in lanes will force us to create "holes" in the stack of pieces on the board that will eventually bring the game to a close, we see that there is no strategy by which we can continue this Tetris game indefinitely -- we must eventually lose"

I figure you'd need approximately 15 Ss or Zs in a row to fill up half the screen.

There's a 2/7 chance of either of those coming up at any given time (Let's call the other shapes I, J, L, box, and triangle) so a (2/7)^15 chance of it happening 15 times in a row.

That's a 1 in 144,884,079 chance. One's hand-eye coordination will have led to a defeat long before such a long string of Ss or Zs shows up.

These controls really really suck.

EDIT: Seriously. I'm pissed off because of them. I have the Microsoft Windows version of Tetris (from the Plus pack for 3.1) and I can absolutely pwn in that.
