Howdy!
First a note. I'm not a member of any team - yet. I've got to prowl through and see what, if any, team really appeals to me. If I fail to find any more appealing, then I'll join Team Anandtech. My primary interest, and what I am trying to maximize, is the OGR stuff. I consider it more useful than the RC5 competition. That said, I'm going to put my cable modem router/firewall (a diskless Pentium 133 machine) to doing RC5, simply because it is too puny for OGR, I think.

Anyway, I will be bringing 4 Sun UltraSparc 60's under my command. What rate can I expect from these puppies? The only thing they will be running for about 15 hours a day will be the distributed client. I should have two of them going by this weekend....

Anyway, I'm picking up a few more systems each day, and should max out with all the machines available to me (around 50 or so) running it within a couple of more weeks.

Thanks for your comments on the Sun's!

Potbelly,
(gee do I identify with that name)

I don't know that ANY distributed computing project is less useful than another. There is an opinion for every project, every competitor.

The main thing is AT. We are solidly behind Anand, and we are one, even if we choose different projects. Your choice will become obvious to you, and we as a team will benefit. Welcome. :)

This is truly the best team to be. :) Be it RC5, Seti, OGR, GammaFlux... etc...

The Ultra Sparcs are more efficient at OGR then they are at RC5, and they should get a decent rate at OGR. Take a look at narzy's link to get a better idea of what to expect.
