good android games?

I'm hooked on plants vs zombies, what are some other really good android games? Angry birds is not that fun to me, my buddy loves it but I can't stand it. Looking for some good ones paid and free, please chime in guys. I need to get away from pvz for a while

Didn't care for Angry Birds myself, seemed pretty repetitive to me.

Check out some of Gameloft's titles. Some of them need higher end hardware to run well though.

Tower Raiders 2, Sentinel 3, PES 2011, Samurai 2: Vengeance, GangstarMV, Air Attack HD, SpeedX 3D, Backbreaker, X Construc and GOF2 are some titles I enjoyed recently. Most are well worth the money and at least a few have demos because some of these games are a matter of taste.

Tower raiders 2 made for some great time killing during slow days at work.

If your gf or wife is a PETA activist, don't show her the game where you hit penguins with a baseball bat.

Minecraft Pocket Edition. There are several knock offs in the market so be sure to get the one by Mojang. they also have a demo so you can give it a try.

The need for speed game that came as a demo on my X is pretty impressive for a phone game.

I play games like Sudoku and X Construction cause I am hoping that it keeps my brain fresh and Alzheimer free. Seen the effects of that miserable disease, so I am doing everything I can to prevent it.

Cut the Rope is awesome. Depending on how addicted you get to it and how much free time you have, it could take you between one day and a couple weeks to finish all the puzzles.

I like tower defense games pretty well, but I prefer puzzle-type TDs rather than ones where you just have a big open field and every single level is the same. If you like puzzle TDs where each level has a different layout, try Defensoid and HexDefense. If you prefer open ended TDs, try Robo Defense (or Fieldrunners, which is a carbon copy of Robo Defense with better graphics but less variety).

Drag Racing. If you like racing, it's killer...

im friggin addicted to that damn game now. been playing the pro league random, trying to get my name on the top 7. i float around 1500 or so for the most part. pretty cool game.

my phone gaming is split between drag racing and solitaire for the most part. i do play ninjump on occasion, but its kind of boring after a while.

Damn you people for getting me hooked on a game.
I started Game Dev Story yesterday, and it's freaking addictive. Crap.
It's the only game I have on my Android device...That should tell you something.

Deadly Dungeons is fun if you like old-school first-person RPGs like Eye of the Beholder and such. It's really hard to find good, western-style RPGs for Android since it's flooded with crappy anime and "RPG Creator" games.

lol. I played the free version because of this thread, and there I was, some hour later playing until it ended.

glad I didn't buy it to keep going...

I would like to recommend Apparatus. It's a physics based puzzle game in which you must build things to complete your goal of guiding a marble into a receptacle. That description sucks, so I'll just say that if you liked tinker toys or Legos, or things like Garry's Mod where you can make a car out of scrap and throw an engine on it, you would probably love Apparatus. It requires a lot more thought, logic, and creativity than the standard "fling cute animal at monsters" physics game.
