Good (and free) java profiler?

This is inspired by the thread about java performance in OS X. A couple of people mentioned java profilers, which I've never used before. A google search reveals a couple of commercial and a few free ones, so basically I'm wondering, which ones do you guys use?

alright, I feel dumb. No matter if I install all features or whatnot, I can't get it to integrate properly. The profiling perspective or run options never show up. And eclipse tptp documentation is less than... optimal.

Any help?
Thanks.

edit:
Just to clarify, I am installing via the eclipse find/install wizard and the manage configuration wizard shows everything has installed correctly. TPTP modules installed are:
Monitoring Tools Project
Platform Project
Profiling for Web app
Reporting with BIRT
Testing Tools Proj.
Tracing and Profiling Tools Proj.

All I want to do is profile a local java application!

edit2: updating from eclipse 3.2.2 to 3.3 seems to have gotten it working.
