Slaughterhouse is easily my favourite all-talk server. Pretty popular too, in fact they just added a second server due to the popularity.

You'll see me there all the time. Forums are here: http://www.bhslaughter.com/forums/ and you should be able to get the IPs from there. If not, just add me as a friedn or message me through Steam and I'll give you the IPs (I don't have them on hand, otherwise I'd just post them).

I played with you on one of the Slaughterhouse servers the other night! That's where I go if I can't get in to my regular servers. I recommend them as well.

Why all-talk??? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of saying, "Hey guys, a spy is a pyro look out."

Don't knock it until you've tried it. I used to think the same thing, but once I started playing all-talk, I never turned back.

No problemo! Did you see me there? I was the annoying Pyro at the top of the blue scoreboard. :p

I play on that server pretty much exclusively.

all talk server on [JLM] Jimmylikesmen 8.12.18.172 and the forums are here www.jimmylikesmen.com/forums

The server consistenly plays fun custom maps and the server is almost always populated with lots of man on man action you'll pretty much get a hard once you connect.

I play on Barons Pub server (east coast) and they have a mod where if you bind a key to voiceall, you can toggle alltalk on and off. Pretty cool. I don't have the IP or I would post it.

Nope, you just change how you do everything. Works very well if everyone understands what is going on.

ummm..

Yes. It does completely screw up large aspects of teamplay. Retarded server setting IMHO.

Well no, it doesn't. It works just fine. It just changes how you do things. If you and your team are on the same page, it's not a problem at all.

agreed and it makes things more interesting with alltalk on anyway.. makes sense for all talk disabling on LEAGUE matches however.

You get on the same page by talking.

So how for instance would you suggest coordinating a 3-uber rush? It takes some talking to do and if you talk they'll either know to disrupt it, or know when it's about to begin.

What about on the more strategic instead of tactical level? Say you're in 2fort doing heavy camp building and harrassment in the sewer to get the defense to over commit there. When it comes time to abrubtly abandon camp and go through the front if everyone "kinda" does it, it's useless. It has to be simultaneous because you only get one chance at the shock value before they dig in up front.

Teamplay in alltalk is nothing more than a bunch of (hopefully) experienced guys that know what is best to do in a given situation. You get some double ubers maybe and some engineers doing some group offensive builds but not a whole lot more than that.

Shenanigans on things just working fine in alltalk. Public servers are bad enough, alltalk just turns them into sh1t talking contests. To each his own I guess.

All talk makes the servers more fun, especially if you can run with it. If your team is losing, you can talk to the other team and have some more game time if they still want to play. You can say Spy Pyro and the other team's spy says no, I'm an engie. I don't see why people resent the idea of all talk.

I can see the casual appeal of it I suppose. For me though the Fun is really in the competition...the "game" of it. If you say Spy Pyro on an alltalk I guarantee there is no Spy Pyro any longer. Say it on a teamtalk server and your team has a good chance of busting him...assuming he doesn't know he's busted.

As an engie don't you ever say, "need some support/cover while building at X"? You can't say that on an alltalk...you'll get half the enemy team flattening your turret before it can deploy some legs.

The game is much less serious, and thus much more fun with alltalk.
