Hey guys, I'm utilitizing a Dell C521 (slim case).

I need to boost up the PSU power and to do so I need to use a full-size PSU. I don't need a lot of juice. Around 400 watts will do the job. The thing it *really* has to have is looooong cables to go from outside the case to the inside. Long ATX, P4, and Molex connectors especially.

Floppy isn't required. 6-pin PEG connector would be nice. 2 Sata connectors, 1 PEG, and 1-2 Molex connectors is the minimum connectors (or 0 PEG and 4 Molex connectors).

Anything that will fit the bill? Looking to buy ASAP.

Not sure how long of cables you need?

The Corsair 400cx has pretty long cables and is pretty strong for the price

I was just about to say I think I found the PSU I need. The P4 connector needed to be at least 16" and the ATX needed to be 14". The PEG connector needed to be almost 20". With 23" between the shortest connector, this will suit my needs wonderfully.

I just also hear reports of a good deal of DOA units. Hope mine isn't.

Think this will have no problems driving a dual-core Athlon (65W TDP) and a low power 9800GT? (105W TDP).

I'm thinking all good. But I thought the stock 280 Watt PSU would be good enough as well.. It wasn't..

If you can't find one you could just splice the cables and add them as long as you need. Find similar awg cable at radioshack and use that with solder. Wont look pretty but it works. That or it may be possible to find extension molex connectors for the different styles. Not sure where you'd find that though.

I'd first look at Peformance PC's. Their selection of conversion/extension/you-name-it cables is pretty much unrivaled.

Here's a link to the Corsair cx400w, it's $30 after MIR on amazon until the 28th. The cables on it are 23-28 inches long so it'll be more than enough for you. I just bought one for the system in my sig and it's great.

My nephew is running an 8800gt right now on one of my 6 year old thermaltake 350w power supplies. Both cards are virtually identical, I was actually surprised the 350w was enough.
