Good 3dmark 2001 score

I have a pentium 4 2,66 gigahertz and a asus p4b533 motherboard.
I have a gigabyte radeon 9700 pro videocard.
I have a score in 3dmark from 13881 is this a good score.
How can i get a faster score.

I'm not sure, but that seems a little low. I get 10750 with a 1600+ @ 1750mhz, ti4200p 128mb(non-overclocked...for some reason I get artifacts in BF1942 but nothing else when o/c'ing?), 256mb pc2100 @ 2700. I think I need to get a format in this week because I noticed my old 8k7a AGP drivers are also loading when I start WINXP in safemode...any better ideas short of format?

I won't hurt you because this is your first post.

Go download/buy UT2003.

Run benchmark.

tell scores.

avoid a deeko beating.

I get more than that with full AA and ansio. sucks for you.

But what really matters is your game scores. 3DMark doesn't mean sh!t.

For a reference:

1.8A @ 2.61 145MHZ FSB and 387MHZ DDR
FIC Radeon 9700 Pro
Windows 2000

Score: 14800
Overclock the core and mem a bit and I can break 15000 with no problem.

Agree with Deeko though...3dmark2001 is useless. I generally just use it for testing new tweaks/overclocks and torture testing. Although I can tell immediately when I screw up a driver install....scores low like 11,000 and lower. Anyways.

UT2003 settings: 1280x1024x32. 4X AA 8X AF max details. Smooth playing. During gameplay with Fraps on average about 45FPS.

That's low. My 9700 non OCed with my P4 @2.75 scores 15,873.

I have a Duron 1.2Ghz, and a Radeon 7500

I'm getting 4353.

My score is low, but it doesn't really matter since I'm not really into PC Gaming.

You're score is obviously too low. Imposing a question like that is nonsense. What you should do is overclock your video card to the point where it displays white fuzz all over every texture. Make sure it's stable for at least one round. Overclock your CPU to unstable levels where it can also withstand at least one benchmark. Use a driver that breaks compatibility with most games, but gains a 5% improvement in 3DMark. Disable everything in the driver?s control panel that actually makes games look good. Until you do all this you won't have a high enough score.

He's got it right. Mess with everything to the point of not being able to use the computer, but so that you have the highest score possible, and can go brag to your geek friends. yea.....

Well, I get 9,745 3DMarks with my 1.4GHz Tualtin Celeron oc'ed to 1.75GHz and a GeForce4-Ti4400 (275/275) oc'ed to 330/315). That's not too bad considering I have to use PC133 SDRAM. If intel would let Celerons use DDR-SDRAM or Rambus I'm sure my score'd be in the 11,000 range.🙂

Cmon guys take it easy! Heh...no matter how many times we go through the usefullness of 3dmark 2001 (or lack of), at the end of the day chances are your gonna have someone ask you what your 3dmark score is, or if there is low, good, etc.

I issue a new challenge for us 9700, 4600, 4400, etc users. How LOW can we score on 3dmark?!?! Crank er up and post!!!! If we want I'll start a new thread for this. 🙂

😀 😀 😀 😀
Come on, man. My neighbours are about to call the police, since
it's midnight and someone is laughing too hard 🙂

Hey, I was nice to him, I gave him a chance to rectify his error before I beat him. I hope I didn't scare him away 😀

In a day or two, I hope to post my own 3DMark scores. Just finished benching my MX440 and am only waiting for my 9000 to arrive. However, in order to avoid a beatdown from Deeko, I'll also throw in some benchmarks from the UT2K3 demo. Frankly, Deeko scares me 😛.

2 points for deeko, it's rare I see a post from him that's nice, he musta finally got laid last night (snicker in the background), but he's usually right about things, 3dmark is only good for testing small changes in your own system and not good for comparing one computer to another, but as long as you can get over 400 fps in Q3 I wouldn't worry about it. gotta love dat 9700pro!.

If you really want a faster 3d mak 2k1 score...oc everything, get your memory as fast a possible while still being able to boot and run the test. after you hit 20000+ then you caught me(19964), clock everthing back to have a normal(if there is such a word) system and run some benches on UT2k3 and whatever else games you got lying around. perhaps times for encoding mp3's etc.

Create a little mass confusion everyday!

Damn straight. 😉 Better idea though, kick the 3DMark altogether(except as a stress test), and add another game to compare :Q

Hey, I used to be nice, but its at the point where no one seems to listen and every day there is a new 3DMark thread, and now that I'm not being nice, my point is starting to get noticed 🙂 And nope, didn't get laid last night, my girlfriend is back at home...but don't you worry, I'm goin home for the weekend tomorrow 😀

Is there another free downloadable game demo that has a benchmark program (like UT2K3)? If so, I'll definitely use it.
